Not that we have a lot of high personal honor peeps but Official Sanction creates "Favor" tokens, so is this a "Favor" action?

Official Sanction does not count toward Ring of Air. The action needs the boldface Favor keyword.

Actually, the simplest way would probably be My Lord's Favor (has Favor keyword) to take the Favor and immediately discard the Favor to discard/draw a card. Voila, Ring of Air.

Daigotsu Onita + Any Duel = Ring of Fire
My Lord's Favor + New Factors = Ring of Air
Sulfurous Swamp + Sinful Dreams = Ring of Water
Ring of the Void = Ring of the Void

Ring of Earth is the real challenge in Enlightenment. It requires there to have been an attacking army at your province at some point. Walking with Earth is currently the only way I know about to force that, and that requires you to have no other Ring in play.

Right now, only the Dragon Clan can Enlighten. However, there is nothing saying you cannot run all the above cards in a Dragon deck.

Priestly Feud can also force an attack and has a little more leeway on when you can use it compared to Walking with the Earth.

yep!

Makes it a little more flexible by allowing you to do Earth second, but, you will have to use Hidden Macinations to prevent your opponent from just bowing their guy for the favor.

Onita enlightenment/military dueling is one deck I really want to try post TA.

That's what I get for not looking at the actual card and just going by the keyword listing. And, if I understand the keyword rules, titles no longer matter.

Why care about commanders? An open fear action that can be boosted with courage and made lethal with Okura looks pretty great to me. Open kill is not in great supply.

It's only a native kill if it has commander. Two card combo isn't terrible, and it's not like you shouldn't run okura anyway, but I don't think intimidation tactic is good enough to justify a slot, even open.

There is also Show of Power which would allow it to pop items and non-Commanders to pop Followers in the Open.
