So basic run down of the deck - nobody matters. OK, Kanpeki kinda matters against kensai decks. Otherwise, nobody matters. You buy 4+ things every turn. You throw bodies at everything. Your fate deck is all your tricks for handling anything, and it does a pretty solid job of doing that.

Some changes I'd make - I don't really like nexus of lies, I just needed another holding (damn you FL requiring 16!). Would swap for the EP 343 destined. Goju Yurishi was a poor choice, but nothing else was better as a one of. Despite being 15g, Kanpeki was a BEAST everytime he showed up and I wouldn't pull him at all. Control was overkill, I handle attachments well enough that another card could go in that slot easily and the deck wouldn't suffer, something for Phoenix Honor meta.

In Sacramento I lost to Dragon Kensai with a poor flip (played against the same opponent same deck before tucson and rolled him every time) and ran out of steam a little against Ogre in the play off round. In Tucson swiss I lost to Phoenix Honor after punting three terrains for no reason (I just didn't have my head in the game) and then lost to a different phoenix honor in top 4. Unicorn gave me some heartburn in swiss there too, but everything else I chewed up pretty regularly. Top 16 I plowed through Kitsu Honor with New Order and Overwhelming Offense (you didn't need that Carpenter Shrine Watanabe, did you?) Top 8 was a Lion attachment deck...hard to keep attachments against this deck.

The deck doesn't care what you do to it really. Standing Fast? Great, I still have 5 or 6 other warm bodies. Force reductions? Eh there's a million of us. Dueling? Whatever, my guys are spuds. Terrains? I pack 10. Attachments? I'll just eat them all, thank you.

Attachments are too easily dealt with by others as well, so I feel there's no point in using them. I'd rather buy another dude or two. There's enough built in fear and battle abilities on your people that its pretty much good to go...

If anyone has any questions about the deck let me know and I'll do my best to reply. I get that its another Yajinden deck and there's a bunch here, but I felt like I had a different enough approach it might be worth posting up for everyone.

I'm guessing this was pre-EP. But with EP out, maybe a couple of stuff:

1. I'd put in that Battle of the First Seal event. Blanket force pump and force penalty in 1.
2. The Looming Darkness. Same idea as the first one.
3. Unshackled. Works great with all your force redux thingiemajig.

The first two card types will work really well with the idea of your deck swarming out. If you don't feel good about control, might as well put some feign death in there.

Tucson was this past weekend, Sacramento was the week after "the bomb", so yes, neither event was EP legal ;)

I woke up at 6am this morning getting ready for the 2015 Vancouver Kotei and I saw this deck and decided to play it.

The only change I made to it was I added Coastal Lanes and Daigotsu Jemaru because I wanted to have more Resrve guys in the deck. After playing in the Kotei I think I would probably cut them.

Daigotsu Kanpeki was amazing every game I got him out and had like 6+ other guys.

Game 1: Spider vs. Spider w/ Attachments - Win
Game 2: Spider vs. Lion w/ Attachments - Win
Game 3: Spider vs. Mantis Kensai - Win
Game 4: Spider vs. Dragon Kensai - Win
Game 5: Spider vs. Crane Destined Attachments and Standing fast blah blah blah - Loss (I think I could win this game if I played it better, but need more practice)

Top 8: Spider vs. Dragon Big Unit Dueling - Win
Top 4: Spider vs. Scorpion
Game 1: Loss
Game 2: Win (we thought it was best of three but apparently it wasn't so we played for Pride, I won by one force, and then my oppenent conceded to me.)
Top 2: Spider vs. Crane (from Game 5) - He conceded to me because he had already won a Kotei, and I had not. [bow]

Deck was awesome all round, thanks for posting it echo42

I'm glad it did well for you! Congrats again on your victory!!!

Did you just add 3x Coastal & 3x Jemaru?

Jemaru I think is too expensive...the deck really runs on 3/4g dudes. Had I had access (and spent time testing) I would have pulled the 2x nexus of lies for 3x coastals then pulled yurisihi and added 3x Naibu & 3x Daigotsu Teruo.

Post EP I'd definitely trade Naibu for the new Goju ranged attack guy.

Yeah I put Jeramu in the deck, I wanted to have as many Reserve guys in the deck that I could, the funny thing is I never needed it at all. So yeah not really needed.

I did find that I did have a ton of gold at some times and maybe Spider Elite Sohei could be useful?

I too did drop your two nexus for a third Forgotten Legacy and a Counting House.

I know in EP I would probably drop the Small Library for either a Spirit Essense Dojo (the province flip is nice), or maybe the Destined Holding?

And yes Goju Iatsu looks really solid for that 4G spot.

Also thought that Ring of the Void may be a good idea as either Deck thinning or possibly get into play for card draw.
