First pack, first cycle and there's already a Goblin.

Ladies and Gentlemen.
From the Spider and for the Horde.

We are back in business. Yes, it's just one sneaky little goblin.
Give him a home in your hearts. This little fella is the ticket to Fu Leng town.
All aboard!

Been awhile. I was super dissapointed when FFG revealed that it would only be the original 7 clans. Glad to see that shadowlands will be making an appearance in some way. Here's hoping that Spider come back sooner rather than later.

Maybe there will be more oni in the next set.

Honestly, I am hoping that they have "Tainted" as a Status card, similar to the Honored / Dishonored Status card. It's a place of design space which would be cool, and would add a corruption mechanic beyond simply the Shadowlands trait.

I am expecting lots of stuff like that. There are cards that specifically deal with status cards/tokens (currently only honored/dishonored).

That could work.

In other news, they are accelerating the release of the dynasty packs, six of them in six weeks starting soon.

Yeah.. I don't know how I feel about that. I was honestly looking forward to seeing a slowly shifting meta in my store, and now there are people who don't even want to play anymore. It was already hard convincing them that they needed to drop the cash for three cores, but 90 extra dollars this soon out of the gate might have scared them off.

I think that this is a necessary step to expand the card base sufficiently to create a dynamic post-Core meta. Yes, it is going to suck to drop $90 on all expansion packs over the next 6 weeks, but I have other expensive hobbies that can take a back seat for this.

I think that this was not announced at GenCon is the real kicker, honestly. The announcement delay until a week after release seems to be angering a lot of people. Another key thing to point out, however, is that these are not likely to sell out as hard core as the core sets were, so there will likely be time to buy them AFTER they come out.

My question is how long until we see another Dynasty Pack cycle after this?

6 months hopefully. It shouldn't change the schedule, just accelerate this portion of it.
