It is a brilliant, passionate story. A little raw? Yeah, but it cuts close to the bone, and gives us a vision of the fate of the Susumu family.

Thank you, Spooky.

Also, my inner Naishi was pleased by the “If they knew the author was a Susumu, they would not read the work.” line, which I think is something she may have said herself at Winter Court. If not, then it is a sentiment she would have absolutely agreed with.

This was just awesome. I loved it as a fan, I loved it as a "symbolism" piece of the current state of the L5R product line/universe and I SUPER-LOVED it as a writer.

Well done, Spooky!

Out of curiosity, I have heard in a couple circles that this story might not be canon? As much as anything is canon at this point, that is. Do we have a confirmation on that? Are the Susumu mostly dead or imprisoned at this point?

It's canon.

Not sure why it wouldn't be. Was there some kind of official statement by AEG to the contrary, or something?

Or is this another case of rampant speculation magically transforming into fact as it is repeated?

I'm gonna guess probably the latter, because it certainly was not the former.

Sorta like the speculation that fictions were not read by multiple editors for continuity and tone before they were released, right? ;)

Or that the DT, and not the RT, were the ones that handled the final wording of all cards. Just as true! :D
