NOT DEAD YET – A celebration of the Legend of the Five Rings CCG.

As we eagerly await the launch of L5R 2.0 at GenCon 2017, we'd also like to celebrate what has gone before. Join us at Black Moon Games on July 9th for a day full of casual gaming, L5R drafts, and tournaments on demand!

The L5R Celebration Day will run from 10am until 8pm. There will be table space for friendly games, and draft pods will run whenever needed while stocks last. We intend to run a Modern event (check out for details on the format), but will also run ANY L5R format requested as long as there are at least four players taking part. Even if you don't feel like getting any games in, feel free to come along, mingle, and share your L5R tall tales and memories. We are also planning on running some non-gaming competitions such as a quiz and a caption contest, so there should
be plenty to do!

There will be an entry fee of $10 for anyone attending, but this will cover any and all activities you wish to participate in on the day. Prize support will be provided for all events, along with participation and door prizes. More details to come!
If anyone has any questions. please feel free to contact me at or contact Tony directly at Black Moon.

Come along and show that L5R is NOT. DEAD. YET!

The heart of L5R has always been the CCG, and we are offering a variety of different options for CCG play.

Casual Play

Table space will be available on the day for anyone just wanted to get a few games in, so bring along your favourite decks and face your foes on the battlefield one more time.

We have a large selection of sealed product to use for drafting, including lots of Evil Portents, the last ever AEG-released L5R set. Pods will run whenever there are at least four players, and prizes will be awarded to the winner of each pod. Obviously, you also get to keep anything you draft!

For players preferring a more formal competitive structure, we’re more than happy to run any format that four or more players want to compete in. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each and every event!

L5R has a reputation for offering dedicated and passionate fans opportunities to shape, influence, and interact with the game and setting outside of ‘just’ success at the card table. The following contests are open to everyone attending Not Dead Yet, and of course, prizes will be awarded for each contest.

Caption Contest

Three iconic pieces of L5R artwork will be on display, and attendees are invited to submit captions for them. The best caption for each picture, selected by our hand-picked panel of judges, will win a prize! Please, try and keep the captions family-friendly.

Haiku Contest

Using the traditional 5/7/5 syllable count, attendees are invited to submit entries based on a theme of ‘new beginnings’.

Name that Card Contest

A ‘game show’ format contest that invites attendees to guess the identity of several different L5R cards based on a series of easier and easier clues. Each attendee only gets one attempt though – guess too early and get it wrong, and you’re eliminated!

Unlike everything listed above, this contest is open to all, whether you are attending Not Dead Yet or not. We invite everyone to share their favourite L5R memory with us on the Not Dead Yet Facebook Event page (, be it a memorable event, a particular game, or even a single moment of game play. A winner will be selected, and a special prize will be sent to them, free of charge, anywhere in the world.
